This morning I woke up with a mission to feed my entire family one meal….that meal was Oatmeal!
Now not everyone in my family is a big fan of oatmeal. So I had to disguise this healthy dish by making it look a little bit like a banana split!
I also added a “serve yourself toppings bar” of nuts, raisins, bananas, coconut sugar and cinnamon.
My boys loved choosing what to add to their personalized oatmeal banana boats. As you can see, coconut sugar was a big hit with my little guy. Oh well…it’s still healthy right?
To make sure your oatmeal doesn’t taste like paste, just rinse the oats in cold water in a colander for 2 minutes and drain before cooking. The consistency changes when you wash your oats before you cook them. They taste creamy instead of paste-like.
The easy clean up on this Saturday morning was my favorite part of this Oatmeal Banana Boat meal!
And…did you know that raisins are rich in B vitamins, iron and potassium. I hope you enjoy this healthy and fun Oatmeal Banana Boat dish!
